I first met Sky and Megan (Mother of the bride) for a cupcake tasting in May. They’d begun planning a sparkly gold and burgundy wedding on New Years Eve-Eve (December 30) at Glacier Canyon in the Wisconsin Dells. It was clear from the beginning that this was going to be a very elegant, highly organized, beautiful wedding and I was just ecstatic to play a role!
I got to know Megan pretty well in the coming months. She ordered several rounds of mini cupcakes to test out the dessert display she and her husband were building, which you will soon see was AMAZING!
Drew + Sky decided on three flavors:
Salted Caramel Cocoa, Carrot Cake, and Hopeless Romantic. Don’t you love the gold sparkly frames they used for their flavor descriptions?
Megan and her husband designed one of the most beautiful cupcake diplays I have ever seen…and I promise I’m not exaggerating. The setup included mirrored trays staggered at varying heights, a gold manzanita tree and mini cupcakes suspended in tiny glass ornaments! I was so lucky to get to be a part of this! It was fun to see their planning process and then get to see it come to life on the wedding day! But enough words, I’ll let the photos speak for themselves!
Drew and Sky chose to add a small 6" cake for the traditional “cutting the cake” photo. We based the cake flavor on our Hopeless Romantic Cupcake. Vanilla cake with raspberries & Nutella and champagne icing all dressed up with gold luster dust and fresh flowers. Notice how Sky’s daughter took matters into her own hands and helped speed the process along by pulling the flowers out of the cake! I think this little lady was ready to get her hands on some cupcakes!
As you can tell, Sky and her Mom, had a vision for this wintery wedding, and they executed it beautifully. I’m so grateful to have been a part of the team! One of the sweetest moments was receiving thank you emails from both Sky and Megan just days after the wedding. The fact that they were pleased and took the time to write those kind words really meant the world to me! Congratulations Drew & Sky and here’s to happily ever after!
